Role – Graduate Applications Engineer Location – Hull Salary – £20,000 - £25,000 25 days holiday bonus scheme after probation The Company ATA Recruitment is working with a leading provider of testing services for a great range of industries including military, defence, rail and telecoms. They have multiple sites across the UK, the Warwick site specialises in environmental & mechanical testing of mainly military and aerospace systems, ensuring they meet the relevant standards for the environment they are going into. The Applications Engineering team are responsible for responding to client enquiries, understanding exactly what parts the customer requires testing and producing technical proposals. If you are a motivated electrically/electronic or physics engineering graduate and are interested in working in a technical environment for a company that can offer exceptional training and development, apply now for immediate consideration The Role The role of Graduate Applications Engineer will involve: Working with the ATEX testing division who are responsible for circuit analysis, IP Testing, spark ignition, flame transmission testing, testing any products which are going to go into an explosive environment. Leads will come in via the telemarketing team or from repeat customers directly via phone/email. You will receive product information such as data sheets, bills of material, drawings, assembly diagrams and circuit diagrams. The Applications Engineer is then responsible for speaking to the customer and communicating confidently with them to understand the requirement. You will need to ascertain technical product information, budget, timescale required and look to ask questions about what the business does to look for any other areas where my client can help with testing. You will speak to engineers who review the product and will discuss with you what type of ATEX testing will be need, what standards it will need to adhere to and how long the testing is likely to take. You will then put the quote together (24 to 48 hours). Issue the quote to the customer and follow up within 2 days and close order if possible. Log dates in the company CRM schedule to allow the testing schedule to forecast in advance. The Person To be successful as a Graduate Applications Engineer you will need: A technical degree which could be either engineering or physics based. Electrical/Electronic would be advantageous. A desire to work in a commercial/sales type environment which involves talking confidently on a technical level with customers over the phone. Commutable to Hull.
