Hadoop DevOps | Permanent | Retail | Merseyside | £55,000-60,000 Your new company Operate within the UK retail sector, having a nationwide scope. Your new role As Hadoop DevOps you will design and implement data solutions; Install, configure and maintain existing and new production solutions with KAFKA, ELK and Hadoop. You will oversee the monitoring and alerting of data solutions and be responsible for all installations and upgrades of Big Data Clusters. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and practices in alignment with company policy and government legislation; having confidentiality and data protection at the forefront of every implementation. Other duties include participating in the on-call rota to ensure technical problems and incidents are resolved. What you need to succeed Must have current experience with Elasticsearch and KAFKA (or similar) and have extensive experience in writing data ingestion pipelines using Logstash or Nifi. Having experience working in a Hadoop Ecosystem is vital; as is being able to demonstrate experience managing Big Data. Must be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, and have a disciplined, logical and orderly approach to your workload. What you'll get in return A salary of £55,000-60,000 (D.O.E), 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, working hours are 37.50 Monday - Friday, pension contribution, onsite gym/ leisure centre, a subsidised eating area and much more.
