Reed Procurement - Public Sector are delighted to be working with a large employer based in the City of London in recruiting a Property Category Manager. This is a brand new permanent position and you will be reporting directly to the Head of Category. Please note: To be considered for this role you MUST have Property Category and OJEU experience. Key Responsibilities To support the Head of Category Management and Procurement Director to create organisational excellence in procurement and purchasing. To develop and lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories, taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories, and contributing significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets. To ensure contract compliance, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key markets. To meet customer requirements by demonstrating best value for money and excellent customer service, through compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by actively managing the market place through development of key strategies for supplier and contract management. Senior level stakeholder engagement to support and drive the strategic direction of the organization. To develop, motivate and manage the Category Specialists across a diverse spend portfolio, in accordance with agreed strategies and processes to optimise procurement spend. Through a category management approach to managing expenditure, identify and deliver significant improvement in value for money and customer satisfaction Engage with senior colleagues to ensure organisational and functional requirements are understood and incorporated into category plans. Ensure a detailed understanding of the expenditure within the category, the suppliers, the products and services, the value for money and the existing supplier performance. Understanding current & future customer needs, constraints, innovation and developing fit for purpose requirement specifications. Managing markets through in depth understanding, influence and development of purchasing strategies to obtain the most economical offers and contract with suppliers. Develop robust implementation plans and communications, supporting the implementation process and managing uptake. Monitoring supplier and performance and seeking ways to optimise new contracts Ensure compliance to appropriate procurement regulations, other relevant legislation and internal financial procedures. Essential skills and experience MCIPS (or equivalent experience) Track record of delivering cost reductions Expertise in Category and Contract management Experience of managing change Experience of managing high value and complex projects A demonstrable track record of procurement savings delivery Experience of operating at a senior level and having the ability to influence senior stakeholders Significant experience of supplier relationship management Evidence of Strong commercial awareness and capability, and the ability to realise opportunities.
