Electrical Technician – MGU 1282 Up to £30,199 p/a plus additional allowances and overtime dependent on candidate experience Full Time – 36 hours’ p/w This is an exciting opportunity to assist the MRC Harwell Estates & Engineering Team in the electrical repairs and installation work. Main Duties & Key Responsibilities include assisting with: • Installation, operation, fault finding and maintenance of the MRC estates wide range of electrical building services (lighting and emergency lighting/general power 230-415v, including fire alarms, door access, IT and communication systems etc • To carry out works efficiently and effectively, acquiring and signing off work through a designated PlanetFM package via a mobile device • Procuring materials, components and spares • Ensuring risk assessments are in place and that works are completed to a high standard and in a timely fashion, to reduce any impact upon scientific programmes. • Mentoring and developing team members (including supporting our apprentices). You should be a strong team player who has a recognised City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent electrical qualification or has completed a recognised apprenticeship. You will need to have completed the 17th/18th edition BS7671 and have some experience in Building Services. The role involves driving an on-site vehicle, dealing with machinery and collection of materials, therefore you will need a UK driving license.
