Overview
As an experienced Quality Manager , you will primarily oversee the quality function at a high pressure die casting SME in the West Midlands. Quality Manager Role: To be responsible for all aspects of quality within the business. Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and internal integration of the Quality Management System and to ensure ongoing compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standard. To work with customers and the shop floor to develop and implement FEMA’s, control plans and PPAP’s as required. To maintain all quality related records on company operations and performance. To develop the operations of the business with support of the senior management team. To manage the NCR procedure and report results / findings to the management team. To perform regular internal audits in accordance with the QMS, and implement any required changes highlighted as a result of those audits. To work with the Technical and Operations Managers to ensure customer expectations are met in accordance with drawings and specifications. To monitor and develop quality performance of suppliers. Quality Manager Requirements: P roven quality experience ideally in a foundry environment or working with die castings. E xperience of working to ITAF16949 standards is desired but not essential. E xperience of PPAP’s and all relevant elements , u sing a CMM and Calibration. 8D Reporting. At least 1 year’s Continuous Improvement experience in a shop floor environment. At least 3 year’s Customer Audit experience . At least 3 year’s ISO9001 QMS experience . At least 3 year’s Quality Management experience . Must be a strong manager of personnel in a shop floor environment and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the business. Must be able to work with suppliers and effectively manage customer expectation. Ideally have a good understanding of casting and the challenges of the process – preferably in a “high pressure die casting” environment or as an end user of castings. Must be able to solve problems in a logical and timely manner. Must have the ability to work on own initiative. Must have good computer skills and be confident with all main office software.
