Overview

As an experienced Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and for speedily resolving them to ensure zero impact to the customer, for our Client, a high pressure die casting SME in the West Midlands. Quality Engineer Role: You will work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. You will work mostly independently with minimal supervision and work will be reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Management. You will be dealing with any quality related issues within the business . Key Activities: Assist / Support in the preparation of the following: Shop floor SOP, Capability studies, PPAP, Control Plans R&R Studies, ISIR reports . From time to time may be required to liaise with customers and suppliers on quality issues. Support product & process improvement activities (Audits) . Global 8D report writing . FMEA and control plan support . Manage the internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) . Support / Manage the calibration system. Control all relevant documents . First and last off inspection but only 20% of your working day. Leadership: Will not have direct reports but will be responsible for ensuring that you guide and direct other team members within the business to reduce/eliminate quality issues and ensure projects are completed on time. Ensuring Company Policy and Procedures are adhered to. Accountability: You will be accountable for ensuring a good quality of work and service to all departments and targets should be met and maintained. High standards of housekeeping and visual management. To ensure that all team members understand the quality issues and solutions through regular communication. Accountable for the introduction of appropriate up to date policies, procedures and compliance relevant to corporate governance issues. Confidentiality: You will have access to sensitive and confidential information. Need to understand relevant information and to use discretion when passing on information received. Meeting Deadlines/Pressure of Work: Deadlines to be met consistently, by good pre-planning ample time should prevail, situations may arise which will increase the pressure. This should be shared with other relevant individuals as identified. KPIs: Support the Formulation and maintenance of the audit plan. Customer PPM . Audit Plan Adherence . Maintenance of Customer Credentials (ISO 9001:2015) . Zero Late Customer 8Ds. 100% of PPAPs on time. Quality Engineer Requirements: Qualified to HNC or HND level or equivalent. ISO 9001:2015 (ISO 9001:2015 Auditor qualified desirable). System knowledge, Root cause analysis, 8D problem solving ability . Experience in PPAP, Capability Studies, R & R Studies, Quality Alerts, ISIRS etc. Customer involvement requiring excellent written and verbal skills . Full UK driving licence.
