Overview

We are now looking to recruit for two Housing First Support Workers to join the team at the Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub in Chester but working across the Cheshire West and Chester Borough. Supporting customers accessing the Somewhere Safe to Stay (SStS) Hub and the Outreach service at the start of their pathway to rehousing, you will to provide flexible, open ended packages of support, advice and assistance to people who have been living on the streets so that they can access and maintain an independent tenancy in line with a Housing First approach. Working with each individual customer establishing an open and trusted relationship and remaining as their single point of contact and support so that they access and maintain a safe, secure home of their own, you will use psychologically informed techniques which offer personalised, creative, innovate and effective support. Candidates for this role should have an awareness of homelessness legislation and practice and of the challenges faced by and needs of people who are rough sleeping. With an understanding of the support needs and the issues facing our customers, a reasonable understanding of the benefit/welfare systems would be beneficial and you must be assertive, resilient and a team player.
