About The Role FRENCHAY BRAIN INJURY REHABILITATION CENTRE The Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol is the Level 1 service for patients with complex neurological needs for the South West of England. We have 52 rehabilitation beds and offer both Level 1 (intensive) and Level 2 (slower stream) specialist inpatient rehabilitation for patients with acquired or traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions. The service aims to provide exceptional care and rehabilitation, achieving outcomes for patients that are consistently above the national average. Training and Rota Co-ordinator and Mental Health Act Administrator Salary: Grade 4 - £10:30 - £10:93 per hour (£20,085 - £21,313) Permanent - Full Time post - 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri (out of hours working may be required) A great new opportunity is available at the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre for a dynamic, motivated individual. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration of staff training, which includes - booking courses, monitoring mandatory training compliance, maintaining accurate databases and inviting staff to training courses for E Learning and Face to Face training. The post holder will work very closely with Angela our Rota Co-ordinator and you will jointly support each other in aspects of each other’s roles and provide cover for periods of leave. The other part of the role involves, ensuring the administration of the Mental Health Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) orders are compliant with the law and carried out effectively and efficiently. This will require working closely with the whole staff team, specifically the Responsible Clinician, Deputy Head of Nursing and Ward Managers/ Nursing team leaders; acting as a point of liaison between the service and other external professionals and agencies, as required in the role. In this role you will • Work closely with the Head of Nursing, Nursing Managers, Lead Therapists and Hospital Director • Be responsible for booking and inviting staff to training courses • Maintain training records and monitor compliance • Act as a point of contact for course instructors and staff on all matters relating to training • Support staff with E Learning modules and organise training logins. • Work closely with the Rota Co-ordinator • In the absence of the Rota Co-ordinator - assist with managing the rota, ensuring correct staffing levels, book bank and overtime shifts, arrange rota swaps. • Receive and scrutinize all Mental Health Act documentation • Monitor important dates for Mental Health Act sections • Co-ordinate and arrange Tribunal and Managers appeal Hearings • Act as a point of contact for detained patients, relatives and external professionals. • Assist with the application and submission of DoLS orders You will have • Education to A level with GCSE Maths and English • Excellent organisational and administration skills with attention to detail • Good IT skills and experience of training / rota system or willingness to learn • Strong Excel and Reporting skills • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage staff requests • Ability to work effectively under pressure • Strong people skills with integrity and discretion • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and DoLS orders • Experience of working with external Mental Health Act professionals and agencies Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides a regional, high quality service; delivering acute in-patient neuro rehabilitation care and therapy to patients.
