Bank Support Worker / Carer Location: Catford, South East London, SE6 Nearest Tube/Station: Catford Wage: £15.00 Weekdays £17.00 Weekends, gross per hour. £120.00 weekdays | £136.00 Weekends (on-call night), gross per shift Driver required? Yes, adapted, manual drive Essential: Experience supporting a young client with complex care needs, experience working within a family setting Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Bank / Casual hours available Family/Client Pets: No About this client/child: Benjanmin is nearly 10 years old, he is a busy bee who enjoys a range of activities which include watching Mickey Mouse and spending time outdoors. Benjamin has Total Body Dystonia which affects all areas of his development. He is a wheelchair user, dependent on others to meet all his care needs and uses a hoist for transfers. Benjamin lives at home with his Mummy and 3 brothers; he loves spending time with his family. Overview of role: Benjamin requires 2:1 support 24/7, the role will involve providing hands-on care and support during the day, monitoring him throughout the night, assisting with personal care, feeding, implementing therapy programmes, administering medication and encouraging a good sleep routine, it will also include light nursery duties This bank contract will include working a mixture of days and nights. This is a busy family home, so it is ‘all hands on deck’ when needed Who this job would suit: A confident, sensitive and experienced support worker with excellent communication skills and previously has worked in a family setting supporting a young client with complex care needs.
