Overview

Working closely with your Buying Director, you'll make sure that they have everything they need to negotiate the very best deals. Our buying teams - if it's possible - have to move even quicker than the rest of the business. And they have to keep ahead of our customers too: second-guessing what they want and need before they do. You'll get involved in every aspect of the buying lifecycle, from putting together tender documents and crunching numbers, to preparing samples and reviewing market data. The proposals start with you. We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. And to keep on top of that wave, our buying teams have to do something pretty special to keep our customers coming back for more. The Assistant role will need to manage key projects and agency/supplier relationships around all aspects of Brands and Trademarks. Responsibilities : • Review and manage daily design approvals for Aldi Exclusive Brand roll outs • Ensure consistency of execution of brand guidelines • Putting together critical paths and managing timelines of all stakeholders • Ad-hoc project management and tracking • Daily upkeep of the Brand Calendar • Daily upkeep of the Redesign tracker • Monthly agency KPI reviews • Monthly agency Spend review • Monthly agency Quality review • Weekly competitor reviews • Brand Education & Training (internal/external) • Key Events - redesign, tool kits, wash-ups • Identify cost saving opportunities • Liaison with Quality, Advertising and CR to ensure we are meeting commitments made i.e. WRAP initiatives, FIR, Team GB etc. • Monthly Trademark and product clearance report review • Taking design briefs from internal departments (Buying Team, Quality, Corporate Responsibility) and briefing the design agency on Aldi Exclusive Brand redesigns • Understanding the challenges around the product launch process and identify areas of improvement • Helping implement new systems and processes to improve speed to shelf Requirements: • GCSE Maths and English grades C and above (or equivalent) • Design and Artwork agency experience • Good understanding of the retail pack change process • Experience in writing design briefs and approving artworks • Print knowledge • Project Management skills • Good communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders, internal and external • Creative mindset • Analytical skills Please note, if you are applying via a job site your CV will not be attached, therefore please ensure you complete the application form.
