Hertfordshire I am currently looking to recruit an Engineering Project Manager to join my client based near Hatfield in Hertfordshire. This role will require considerable travel within the UK. We are looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Project Manager with a technical background to join the project engineering team. Fast paced experience would be an advantage. You will project manage the technical realisation of automation solutions at next generation of automated distribution centres / customer fulfilment centre’s (CFC’s). Managing and supporting matrix resources and deliverables from multiple teams across engineering. Roles & Responsibilities Be the link and liaison between teams based at different locations (including new build sites) Communication across teams and to project stakeholders Coordinate project technical support, taking ownership of problems seeing them through to resolution Identify and coordinate applicable engineering change requests Maintain and communicate project technical documentation Risk identification and mitigation Workflow management of cross functional teams Working with planning colleagues to create and maintain realisation programmes Skills, Experience and Expertise An Engineering qualification, to HND or Degree level 3-5 years of engineering, or project management, experience Good technical ability (or experience) relating to automation hardware, cranes, conveyors, lifts etc. Experience of projects in manufacturing, automotive, airports, FMCG distribution or similar field (could also be from within the MHE industry) H&S qualification, IOSH or NEBOSH and relevant experience. Knowledge of Controls and Automation Aptitude to debate detail both technical and commercial detail with MHE vendors, and ensure compliance to Engineering standards. Ability to design & propose alternative solutions when faced with project barriers. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences Ability to monitor, report and communicate progress (or barriers to progress) with variety of stakeholders, both in verbal and written form. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and ideally MS Project. The ability to deliver projects on time and within approved budget The ability to multitask and manage/prioritise a complex diary Demonstrate a balanced and considered approach to problem resolution Communicate requirements and facilitate compromises where appropriate based on appreciation or analysis of any business/technical project tensions in play. The ability to draw a workable solution from diverse teams, which is acceptable to all impacted parties (Vendors, Operation, Engineering Ops). Preferred (in addition to minimum) ? Project Management Qualification ? CDM 2015 Qualification ? Management of large construction teams ? Functional Safety Experience or qualification ?
