Overview

Application Support Analyst required by market leading financial services organisation based in Newport. The Application Support Analyst will join a fast-paced growing team and operate as the interface between business and technical departments throughout the analysis and resolution of complex live queries or issues. The successful applicant will suit a candidate with high analytical aptitude with attention to detail focusing on providing 2nd/3rd line support to internal and client software systems. The role offers flexible working practices and the current team currently operate a 7am - 7pm cover for the 2nd and 3rd line Support Teams with an average of 7.5 hours worked between these times. Duties: Can perform stakeholder interviewing to understand current process and gather further information on the incident or problem Liaise with internal teams or 3rd parties to investigate incidents and problems Present all changes to the Change Approval Board for authorisation prior to implementation Post implementation support for changes to live business as usual software systems and business processes Attain good levels of feedback from ticket resolution reviews Investigate incidents and problems through to resolution Responsible for leading incidents and problems for internal and external client service desk tickets Work within defined service desk and client SLA's Challenge and validate requests from internal and external clients Essential: Experience of working in IT Industry analysing and resolving database and data issues Can interpret data models and use SQL to produce reports for incident investigation and data amendments Proven experience of business analysis Experience in Microsoft Office applications Incident and Problem solving by analysing and identifying solution options Resolve Incidents and Problems following prescribed procedures Identify and Mitigate Risks Understand Regulatory Implications Communicate effectively and influence stakeholders Adhere to confidentiality, data security and data privacy regulations Strong commercial awareness Desirable: Experience of Business Analysis ITIL Foundation certificate Experience of working within Financial Services Industry Can support system and user acceptance testing Experience of ITIL Framework This fantastic opportunity comes with an excellent basic salary from £30,000-35,000 p/a and is accompanied with a 10% bonus, Private Medical Insurance, 24 days holiday (increasing to up to 30 days with service), 6% Pension, Life Assurance, Flex Benefits, Eye Test and an annual Flu Vaccination to name but a few.
