Overview

We are working with a large, reputable and growing accountancy firm in Norwich who, due to growth, is looking to appoint a Personal Tax Senior. This an opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to flourish by gaining well-rounded compliance and advisory exposure. The firm are however flexible should you have a keen interest to stay focused in one area than the other and can mold the role around you. A wide range of benefits would be available to the successful individual to include a highly competitive remuneration package of £34,000 to £40,000 and bonus, 25 days holiday, pension, free parking and flexible working hours. On top of this, you will receive private medical insurance. Personal Tax Senior Duties: Acting as a private client tax specialist giving and assisting in giving advice to clients and other groups on private client tax issues. Having a sound knowledge of private client tax, keeping up to date with tax legislation changes and assisting with dissemination of such information. Apprising partners, directors, and managers of progress during assignments and drawing attention to any issues that may arise. Dealing with routine correspondence concerning the client’s affairs on a timely basis. Assisting partners, directors, and managers with detailed and more complex work on assignments. Generally ensuring that the firm’s quality assurance procedures are maintained, and that client care is satisfactory. Managerial Duties: Assisting with billing and reduction of write-offs. Manages work in progress to ensure recoverability targets are met. Monitoring own compliance with chargeable hours targets. Supervision and motivation of staff. Ensuring that all compliance work is dealt with in accordance with the tax department standardisation procedures. Monitors debtors in a timely manner to ensure aged debtors do not escalate. Ensuring that own job budgets are completed and compared to actual time and that explanations are obtained and recorded for any variances. Ensures bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis. Meets your own financial targets set. Generally ensuring that the firm’s quality assurance procedures are maintained, and that client care is exceptional. Person Specification: Works effectively with all members of the team, building confidence and respect for peers and subordinates. Encourage team members to be positive and to give of their best in line with the firm’s goals. Mentors team members where necessary giving feedback. Demonstrates an appetite for self-development through the appraisal process. Reviews work for learning points and client service.
