Overview
SQL Database Administrator £40-45,000 basic Our client, a long established & successful international market-leading software house is seeking an SQL Database Administrator, based from their Birmingham City Centre office. The successful candidate will work as part of the development & operations teams administering and improving their SQL databases, that are a key part of delivering their flagship software solution. You will need to be self-motivated, willing to work hard and be able to fit in well with a small team. You will be experienced with SQL Server versions 2008 through 2017, and be able to assist in both the administration of the databases, and the creation of new databases, in keeping with best practices. Key Duties: DBA to the SQL Server databases and instances, to maintain a high level of performance. Designing, architecting and developing existing and new database features for the flagship product Collaborating with the Operations team, development team, testers and project leads, to ensure solutions put in place are to a high standard and fit for purpose. Help implement new DevOps processes and procedures Experience: Commercial experience administering and monitoring SQL Databases. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills The ability to work both independently as well as within a team environment Strong T-SQL, with experience of writing custom functions and stored procedures. Experience creating and enhancing database indexes. A computer science or related degree with a high level of computer science content or equivalent qualification/industry experience Experience with Replication / Data Warehousing to improve reporting performance. Experience with SSRS Experience deploying databases with continuous integration, using Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
