Overview
Project Accountant | £40,000 - £50,000 | Leicester The Opportunity Award winning, large and progressive group have a requirement for a commercially astute Project Accountant/ Finance Business Partner. This is a superb and relatively unique role for a recently qualified accountant looking for a broad career challenge that is much more than the standard reporting / management accounting. You will be completely focused on a range of mid and long term added value projects - your 'business as usual’ is continuous improvement The remit will include: As Project Accountant you will enjoy: Digging into cost drivers and levers of success / profit across the business. Proving highly commercial insight around the overheads and spend profile. Business partnering with colleagues across operational functions and commercial areas (within an extremely fast paced and complex manufacturing environment). Taking lead as the key finance contact for a major system / IT project (new ERP install and system migration). Refresh and overhaul of current standard costing / reporting / MI production. Ad hoc project responsibility surrounding new product development, understanding waste-age, use of material, labour costs, variances to budget, forecast discrepancies. It is a new role designed to allow you to focus on added value activities. You will enjoy playing a key role in supporting the Head of Finance to manage a broad range of key finance projects. It is a rewarding, challenging and interesting permanent position for someone who enjoys continuous improvement and wants to move away from standard / routine monthly reporting. You will need: A firm foundation of management accounting / financial reporting skills and ideally experience of delivering added value projects / improvement. A qualification (CIMA or equivalent). Excellent IT skills and advanced knowledge of Excel. Ability to translate high volumes of complex data into meaningful and insightful summaries for a non-finance and senior finance audience. Great interpersonal skills. Experience of a manufacturing environment - ideally at site level within an FMCG business / group.
