Overview

Prospectus is pleased to be working with a leading charity that provides advice, guidance and support to local residents and within the surrounding areas. They are currently seeking to recruit a Service Manager to assist with the oversight and day to day running of the organisation on a full time (40 hours per week) on-going basis. As the organisation's Service Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive advice and information service provided to beneficiaries. You will oversee performance measures and ensure that they are being used to efficiently manage operations, assist with identifying risks and the effects they may have on organisational change. Working in partnership with funders and key stakeholders, you will monitor the performance and effectiveness of the service delivery, ensuring it continues to meet local advice needs. To ensure service delivery standards are met, you will be confident in evaluating the effectiveness of the service, developing common practice and, where necessary delegating, monitoring and evaluating work. As part of the role, you will also be responsible for the development and implementation of the organisations health and safety policy and procedure. To be successful for this role, you will have a substantial experience of managing operations, developing good quality advice services, supervising frontline staff (including volunteers) and planning and developing the delivery of advice services to meet the needs of the local community. You will have a good working knowledge of IT packages, an understanding of supporting and supervising frontline staff to encourage their motivation and personal/professional development. Adaptability and a positive approach is key to this role, as well as being able to use your own initiative and work collaboratively with the wider team. The ability to work well under pressure is an essential element. In addition, ideally you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the confidence to  deliver presentations, write reports and communicate in a clear and engaging manner. To be considered, you must be available to start immediately or within a 2 week notice period. The working pattern for this position in Monday - Friday and on-going for up to 3 months with the possibility of a permanent position. Â
