Head of IT Infrastructure Radstock £50,000-£70,000 DOE Company Benefits My client is a vastly experienced organisation that are constantly evolving with the everchanging landscape of technology and with this they'd like to bring in an experienced Head of IT Infrastructure to come and make a real impact to their business. As a business they rely on their IT systems as they are a key element to the solutions they provide to their national customers, you will be responsible for analysing their current systems and identifying ways in which they can be more efficient. You will be responsible for managing all things IT, a team of technical IT Service Desk & Infrastructure personnel however you will take a hands-on approach in developing and establishing IT standards, procedures, design, deployment and operations of IT Software/Hardware. Key responsibilities of Head of IT infrastructure; Head up all elements of internal operations including IT Infrastructure, Service desk teams, Communications (LAN, WAN, email), databases, recover and regulatory compliance. Ensure security of networks, systems and data. Make a positive contribution to development of IT strategies to align with business strategy. Develop and maintain overall backup and recovery strategy. Manage general day-to-day ops including downtime, reporting service levels, defining & tracking IT operational metrics and provide status updates to management. Maintain high availability of important business systems, managing and participating in appropriate on-call rotas. Own and maintain strict controls on data/system backups and recover-ability. Managing staff members as well as supporting business projects. Implement service desk processes and standards ensuring maximum up-time is achieved minimising disruption so service desk remains efficient. Work in line with recognised standards e.g. ISO/Cyber Essentials. What you need to be suitable for this Head of IT Infrastructure role; A degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent. Must have 6 years' experience in IT infrastructure management. Hands on technical experience of core tech including Windows Servers, Active Directory, MSSQL and networking tech e.g. LAN/WAN, subnets, firewalls, VLAN's and VPN. Experience of VMware technologies. Technical knowledge of IT security. Must have a strong understanding of IT Infrastructure technologies like Storage Area Networks (SAN), Converged platforms and virtualisation. Strong people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of individuals across the organisation. The ability to lead and work as a manager and the go-to person for the business when interacting with customers regarding IT Infrastructure technologies.
