Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Overview

You will have a deep knowledge of applications, the code, how it runs, how it is configured, and the underlying services that it utilises, as well as how it can be managed effectively and efficiently. Who you'll be working with: Sitting within Application Development and Maintenance (AD&M), we provide a number of services within Technology Services (TS), including Platform Engineering, Application Development and Maintenance as well as end to end testing to ensure high availability of systems. You will typically spend up to 50% of your time dealing with the daily care and feeding of our current software applications. The rest of your time will be spent working on programs from implementing new business functionality, to assisting any of the DLG business and brands as well as helping us remove technical debt from our services and improving the current systems reliability. What you'll be doing: You will monitor and review application performance Working with core infrastructure software components, Middleware (WebSphere / Tomcat / Apache), Database (i.e. Oracle or SQL Server, Cloud Native Database Services) and Java. Managing service runnings on Windows, Linux or Cloud Platforms Handle on-call and emergency support ensuring software has good logging and diagnostics Craft, build and maintain operational runbooks Working closely with other key support departments including, Testing & Release Management, Application Maintenance to ensure specialist services are utilised Contribute to overall product roadmap whilst working in Agile delivery environments You will have analytical and problem-solving, with the ability to come up with practical solutions within a production environment in a time critical environment.
