Computershare recently acquired a leading European employee share plan business with an innovative range of client solutions. We are now making a long-term investment to enhance these applications and migrate Computershare’s existing and new clients onto the platform. You will work within our cross-functional agile teams and be involved throughout the full development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to the delivery of high-quality solutions. Our development team in Edinburgh will be formed of existing staff with bags of knowledge of our domain and new employees who will bring additional technology expertise and experience. Responsibilities As a Senior Java Developer, you will work within a cross-functional team to deliver new capabilities across a portfolio of applications and supporting frameworks. You will work with employees across the globe to design, build and deploy high quality solutions that deliver value. We are looking for you to be a champion in coding standards, sharing knowledge with peers and coming up with innovative ideas to support improvements in technologies and practices. As a senior member of the team, you will provide constructive feedback and mentor more junior members of the team, whilst listening to other ideas and sharing your own. Skills & Experience Extensive experience as a Java Developer with experience of enterprise application stacks Exposure to open source frameworks, such as Spring, Hibernate and Apache-SW libraries Experience of rich internet applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful, web services Experience working within an Agile or DevOps environment with working knowledge of TDD/BDD Experience of mobile development is highly advantageous Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships You will have experience of mentoring junior team members This is a great opportunity to work on a highly regarded programme of work that you can be involved in from the outset.
