Technical Assistant

We are seeking an experienced quality professional to work for a well established food production business based in North Yorkshire. The company are committed to creating leading products and are constantly reviewing consumer trends to stay at the forefront of their market sector. The Technical Assistant role is crucial within the technical department, working both within a team and independently to ensure food safety, quality and legislative compliance, whilst fully implementing company Policy to achieve agreed technical objectives. You will ensure the quality system and standards are maintained, monitor product conformance to specifications, assist in improving customer product expectations and service levels, maintain product and raw material specifications, assist in maintaining accreditation , assist with customer complaints plus carry out product and ingredients analysis and sampling. The job would ideally suit somebody with a couple of years food industry technical experience who is looking for the next step in their food manufacturing career. You will be a holder (ideally degree level) of a food science or food technology qualification and food industry experience would be essential. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of food hygiene and food quality systems plus possess excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Knowledge of internal auditing, HACCP principles and food labelling legislation are all highly desirable.
