Overview
Experienced Buyer required for large manufacturer based in Plymouth. The successful Buyer will supply purchased parts to production facilities inline with MRP requirements and other ordering methods used within our client. Production Buyer – Key Responsibilities: Place, manage and expedite orders. Maintain supplier purchasing contract data integrity within the Chess/MRP system. Measure supplier delivery performance via past due orders and shortages and report on weekly basis. Raise new part numbers and action associated 055’s verifying the acceptability of new parts. Act as first contact with prices queries, price increases/rejection and resolution of invoice queries. Raise, monitor and action appropriate change notes. Report as a team all key performance indicators. Update & control of visual KPI’s and 5 S audit board. Support improvement projects including Six Sigma initiatives. Production Buyer– Person Specification: Previous experience in a Procurement based role (E.G. Buyer, Junior Buyer, Buying Assistant etc.) – Essential. Experience in MRP systems/purchase requisitions – Essential. Computer literate in prime Microsoft applications – Essential.
