My client are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking Infrastructure Engineer to join their Network & Security Teams. Ideally you will be able to deconstruct problems, manage your time and prioritise items of work. You should be a self-starter who is happy to present your own ideas and opinions on improvements the team can implement. Working across teams, you will quickly build a comprehensive knowledge of operational responsibilities and priorities. You will be the initial point of contact for incidents and service requests that are received for Network and Security functions. Lead on operational BAU tasks, taking ownership and seeing through to completion. Collaborate with colleagues in own team, across infrastructure and other departments across ISDS. Fulfil a key role in troubleshooting incidents and problems that impact service users. Lead on security analysis, including monitoring, investigating, alerting and reporting security threats. What you'll need to succeed You should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work and interact with teams to deliver on agreed deadlines. You will also have a customer service focused approach, along with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. You should also have strong technical knowledge including: Experience of: Cisco networking technologies; working in an Active Directory environment; Palo Alto firewalls; Network monitoring tools; DNS/DHCP; SIEM technologies Well-rounded understanding of network architectures such Layer 2 / Layer 3 technologies Supporting business critical infrastructure and systems. Identifying risks and issues, escalating and providing potential resolutions. Developing and maintaining technical documentation Analysing intrusion and vulnerabilities. Investigating and documenting security incidents plus correctly identifying and resolving incidents. Proactively identify major or common attacks for the purposes of tuning existing security monitoring platforms.
