Capital Projects Operations Manager
Overview

It takes a special sort of person to do this. What if that was you? The role . AWE are currently seeking an Operations Manager to support the Capital Projects Portfolio/Pillar 4 Lead, through the delivery of Portfolio activities (project delivery, reporting, communications, escalations and governance), to ensure all outcomes are delivered in accordance with the plan and AWE governance arrangements. The role should also act as one of the principal leadership roles within the CPO. Experience of working within nuclear license conditions would be advantageous but not essential. Key Accountabilities : Ensure the Portfolio is properly resourced, with sufficient SQEP from the AWE business functions or if necessary the supply-chain. Forecast the longer-term skills requirements and the associated succession/business resilience plans or make/buy decisions Carry out independent assurance/governance reviews, and thereafter ensure all appropriate corrective actions are in place and being delivered. Determine the KPIs that are required to ensure that IPD goals are met Develop and maintain the IPD Management and Communications plans, and thereafter co-ordinate all communication from the Group, such that they are targeted and aligned to the Group and Company vision). Co-ordinate all VIP visits to infrastructure project sites, working closely with the Director and Project CAMs Develop and thereafter be the gatekeeper of IPD policies, procedures and governance. Identification of CPO capability gaps and ensure corrective action plans are put in place to address shortfalls, excess or unnecessary capability. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player Key skills and experience required : Ensure effective arrangement are in place to meet programme customer requirements. Assist the Pillar lead in ensuring the contract deliverables are achieved by dealing with risk, vulnerabilities, opportunities and blockers. Monitor milestones, plans and schedules, identify problems and obtain solutions. Establish communication channels to ensure company strategies, policies, management system requirements and the importance of meeting stakeholder requirements and targets are understood. Work with others to form high performing teams. Adopt a "see it, own it, solve it" mind set by identifying obstacles to success and taking ownership to find solutions to those problems. Monitor on a monthly basis performance against PMB and causes of variance, understand and work to identify solutions with the relevant stakeholders to deconflict and manage variance. Review and assist in the development of Rolling Wave Artefacts. Support the Customer Pillar review and Capital Projects Performance Review and attend exec level reviews on behalf of the Director.
