Overview

Security Consultant My client, a financial services organisation based in Edinburgh are actively looking for a Security Consultant to join their existing team on an initial 6 month contract basis. The role will support the CISO and the wider team as well as interacting with multiple stakeholders around the organisation. The main emphasis of this position will be to investigate and remediate any existing third parties, shadow IT,' and as a result need to be investigated by the security team in order to ascertain compliance for both a technical and governance perspective. Role Responsibilities You will play a key role in the delivery of solutions for outstanding actions in relation to management of shadow IT for the UK business. You will provide support to the Enterprise Information Security team including: Working with the business to identify what risks/actions are outstanding and create a plan for remediation and closure of these. Work with the business to define and agree the timescales in the plan for the closure of the actions identified. Perform a confirmatory investigation to ensure that additional risks/actions have not arisen since the original actions were raised. Confirm that the appropriate checks are in place so that the ability to on board new shadow IT is difficult and detectable. Skills & Knowledge Good stakeholder management skills. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to work under your own initiative with limited supervision to deadlines. Good technical understanding - network interaction - web proxy/ network logs etc. This contract is via umbrella engagement only.
