Seasonal Chef - Inverness Reference : INVR05320 Position : Seasonal Chef Location : Inverness Youth Hostel, Victoria Drive, Inverness, IV2 3QB Hours per Week : 40 hours per week (5 working days out of 7) Accommodation: This is a live-out post. Contract : Fixed term, immediate start until 15/Oct/20 Closing Date : 2020-04-04 Interview : TBC We are one of Scotland’s leading accommodation providers, providing affordable and welcoming accommodation and excellent customer service in some of the finest locations in Scotland. About the role: We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual who loves food, has a passion to learn and wishes to join our team at our Inverness Youth Hotel to build success, share ideas and lead the way in helping our guests feel welcome. You will: Deliver the highest standard of food quality and presentation whilst achieving budgetary requirements Cook daily food for breakfast buffet and evening meals, catering for groups from 10 up to 120, dining room capacity up to 65 people, as well as functions lunch when required. Maintain the standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the main catering kitchen, back of the house in accordance with the hostel’s HACCP house rules, and cleaning schedules The role may also be suitable for a Professional Cookery student who is looking to progress as a chef within the hospitality industry. Excellent knowledge and understanding of food hygiene, Cooksafe, HACCP and COSHH regulations and a relevant catering qualification such as Elementary Food Hygiene, SVQ/NVQ in catering, food production. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as unsupervised during busy times Ability to multitask and work under pressure whilst remaining calm Ability to work flexible hours including undertaking split shifts and working weekends Motivation to achieve customer satisfaction with desire to learn and a passion for cooking Additional information: Breakfast service 6.30-9.30am and dinner 5-10pm. Split shifts depending on business needs. The successful candidate is required to provide satisfactory references and a Basic Disclosure.
