My client is looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to work on a £40 million project in Birmingham. Experience in large complex buildings with unusual fit-out preferable. We are looking for an enthusiastic Design Manager who has an excellent motivation and forward planning skills. The role will involve: Managing the design process using his/her contractual awareness and technical expertise. Supporting, understanding and advising the client as to the requirements and their obligations in the development of the design. Acting as a focal point for all design related issues on projects from pre-construction through to completion. Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales. Striving to eliminate health and safety risks during construction. Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice where appropriate Liaise with design consultants, statutory bodies, subcontractors and client team The Ideal Design Manager The Ideal candidate will possess the following: Main Construction Contractor experience ideally working on steel frame buildings Ability to communicate with a range of people at all level, both verbally and in writing Ability to plan, organise and manage all aspects of the design Analytical problem solver Ability to make reasoned and informed judgements and decisions Knowledge of current building regulations Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
