Overview
A fascinating and welcoming company based in the Stoke area has a fantastic position available for a Financial Controller to join the company. The company provides a range of management services to a number of companies in the energy and waste sector. The role will need to provide all aspects of robust financial management and control for this complex structure of project companies. It is a pivotal role. The Role: Partnering with other colleagues to lead, manage, motivate, develop and support a finance team (initially 3 Management Accountants), including conducting appraisals Exhibit flexibility and the ability to work closely with the other FC to effectively manage the team and reporting requirements for all SPV's Support the team with knowledge and expertise in technical accounting matters and ideally financial modelling Improve effective communication and building positive relationships with all stakeholders of the business including departmental leads across the business and also corporate investors and Directors or the SPV's Contribute to the recruitment and induction of new staff Support the Assistant Finance Director in additional duties from time to time as the company develops Responsible for the financial management of allocated project companies either under development, construction or operational Extract key financial requirements and covenants from legal contracts Monthly and quarterly reporting to strict deadlines including the review/preparation and presentation of reports and insightful information to board members Review and preparation of month end Management Accounts including analysis of variances to budget, reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts & rolling cash flow forecasts Tight management of working capital/updating of financial models Review and preparation of annual budgets/operational models Manage and prepare statutory accounts for project companies The Person Fully Qualified Accountant/Finalist Motivated, commercial with a can-do attitude Good team management experience who can motivate others Strong Excel skills Highly numerate A happy individual Can build and maintain strong internal and external relationships Fantastic opportunity with a really welcoming workforce
