Overview

SJC are currently partnering with a global business services business in stoke-on-trent who have engaged us in the search for a Financial Accountant. The purpose of the role will be to provide high standard of financial reporting and analysis to enable the business to meet all business requirements. Paying upto £50,000 Package Role Responsibilities: Preparation of external statutory and regulatory financial reporting obligations and external reporting requirements to shareholders • Assist the preparation of the annual budget and business plan submission for the Executive and Board • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial reporting (actuals and revised forecasts vs budget) to the Executive and Board • Assist with production of monthly cash flow forecasts and management of the organisation’s liquidity position • Ensuring all taxation, interest and debt statutory and group reporting calculations are prepared in line with agreed deadlines and assisting with audit queries • Management of the HMRC online system to ensure correct entities/periods stated and relevant users have the correct access • Management and payment of corporation tax, consortium group relief and trust tax payments within statutory/agreed deadlines • Preparation of year-end tax packs and analysis to support tax advisors completion of corporation tax returns • Support Financial Reporting and Analysis Manager with day to day treasury operations • Support with other ad-hoc financial analysis e.g. business valuations • Support the Financial Reporting & Analysis Manager and Financial Controller with providing appropriate technical accounting guidance • Planning the implementation of new financial reporting standards, tax and treasury requirements • Manage the year-end audit and assurance process around regulatory & statutory reporting • Manage the relationship with external auditors, tax advisors and shareholder Group Finance functions • Work closely with Financial Operations and Business Partner teams to ensure accurate financial information and analysis • Support management of relationship with HMRC • Provide technical financial guidance to Financial Reporting Manager, Financial Controller and the Chief Financial Officer Person Specification: • Ability to interpret and provide appropriate guidance on complex financial requirements • Provide practical, efficient solutions to new reporting and analysis requirements • Full professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA) • Statutory and management accounting with experience of producing taxation disclosures • Audit background would be advantageous • Regulatory reporting experience would be advantageous • Utilising financial applications such as Sage • Financial controls and governance • Balance sheet management and cash forecasting • Use of Microsoft Office suite: Excel, PowerPoint and Word If this could be of interest please contact Tom Allen directly on
