Overview
SQL/BI Developer opportunity to join a rapidly growing Data Team. You will be working in a hybrid role, utilising both BI skills and complex SQL Development, operating in the Data Source and Warehousing layer (reports developer not needed). Working on a good mix of Greenfield and Brownfield BI and Data Integration / Development projects, you will be working with other talented SQL Developers, DBA's, Report Developers and Testers to deliver a range of financial services solutions both internally to employees and externally to clients. Duties and Responsibilities: Work as part of a project team to integrate new datasets into existing internal databases Work from User stories to translate requirements into technical design Take part in Peer code reviews Investigate live issues, making strategic and tactical recommendations Adhere to data management / database design best practice Familiarity with secure development policy / ISO 27001 Take part in technical design sessions with other developers Contribute in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily scrum, retrospective sessions Work within Data Retention / GDPR rules Make commitment to continuous improvement Gather user requirements for Data warehousing solutions Design build and deploy new Data warehousing solutions using Kimball methodology Evaluate, improve and troubleshoot existing BI functions Develop and maintain technical documentation Work closely with the Client Reporting team to meet customer demand Skills & Experience: Essential Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years' in a SQL/BI based role or hold a SQL Server certification Must be able to create, enhance and troubleshoot complex and optimised T-SQL Procedures Data Warehousing Design & Development skills using Kimball method Must have working knowledge of SQL Server 2016 and above Prior experience of working on Data Migrations and/or M&A Projects Must be able to create, enhance and troubleshoot complex SSIS Packages in SSDT Data Modelling skills Working experience of developing cubes in SSAS (or similar, e.g. Azure Analysis Services) A good appreciation of reporting layer. E.g. tools: Qlik, Business Objects, SSRS Desired Working knowledge of Azure / AWS Prior experience working on large scale ETL / Data Warehousing projects Data Warehousing Architecture and best practice Experience of working in both an Agile and Waterfall environment Azure DevOps for Source Control / Story and Task Management
