Senior Java Software Engineer - Microservice, AWS, Spring Frameworks London Up to £85,000 I am currently working with a world-class, London based company in the transport industry who are seeking a Software Engineering Manager. This individual will be responsible for building a software team in the UK while managing a team that is based internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for encouraging innovation and implementing cutting-edge technologies. THE ROLE: You will be working directly with the CTO helping the company migrate from a monolithic architecture to microservices. You will also will be responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing existing engineers as well as the ones YOU bring on. Other responsibilities will include: Leading the creation, availability, resilience, and scalability of software solutions Assisting in the development of tools and applications Improving software engineering practices Managing performance and providing constructive feed back YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: What your role as a Senior Java Software Engineer will require: Extensive experience with Java programming Previous experience in deploying microservices Experience in management and team building Experience creating Docker containers and building automation tools like Maven and Gradle Working experience in Git, Jira, Confluence Strong ability to communicate with team members and product owners Solid knowledge working with AWS or cloud based infrastructures Commercial experience working with RESTful services WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT: 1. Over 1 year of management experience: this includes roles as a tech lead or similar positions (the role will require hands on work) 2. Over 1 year of Microservice Experience, preferably 2 years.
