Overview

Here at Seashell Trust we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment and communication disorders and autism. We are recruiting for a talented SEN Teacher to join our team at Royal School. The post-holder will be responsible for a group of students both pastorally and educationally and be a line manager for a group of Teaching Assistants. This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity with full time hours. Experience Teaching experience of Key stage 4 and post 16 Teaching experience with young people with Autism and communication difficulties Teaching experience with students who have severe and complex learning difficulties Experience of differentiating the Curriculum Multi-disciplinary working Education and training Teaching Degree or Post Graduate Diploma (Qualified Teacher Status QTS) Skills and Knowledge Recent legislation and national developments SEND reforms Pathways to adulthood Autism best practice approaches Positive behaviour support strategies Flexible working strategies Self-motivated and confident IEPs Issues of confidentiality Working with support staff People management Issues of access for students with complex learning needs Knowledge and skills relating to information and communication technology Good organisational / time management skills Excellent interpersonal skills Please see the attached job description for full details.
