Senior EMC Engineer
Overview
Our client design, develop and install signalling systems for use on mainline and underground railways in the UK and overseas. The systems use a suite of products ranging from simple devices such as relays to high integrity, safety critical, complex processor-based equipment. Part of delivery process involves demonstrating that the Systems are electromagnetically compatible will all other equipment/assets in their target environments. Often this will include demonstrating EMC with trains and electrification infrastructure. Job Brief Enthusiastic, experienced and capable EMC Engineer responsible for the provision of EMC Engineering services to R&D and Project teams throughout the Company. Roles & Responsibilities ? Technical consultancy to the EMC team and to design teams in R&D and the wider company for EMC and other related standards compliance areas. ? EMC assessment / analysis and testing of products/systems for use in railway environments. ? Production of EMC control plans, technical files, environmental test plans and other related Project EMC and compliance documents. ? Management of the R&D EMC and environmental test facilities. Essential Qualities ? Chartered Electrical / Electronic Engineer. ? Good first degree or higher qualifications in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. ? Comprehensive knowledge of EMC testing and related physical phenomena. ? Experienced in the design of analogue and digital electronics. ? Proven analytical skills. ? Strong literacy skills. ? Team player. Desirable Qualities ? Experience of using Mathcad, Spice or similar modelling / simulation tools. ? Self-motivated and commercially astute, with leadership and communication skills. ? Strong attention to detail. ? Good PC skills including use of MS Office tools. ? Familiarity / experience in RF Engineering. ? Customer facing.
