Overview

As Engineering Safety Manager (Rail) working within the Network Safety Team, you will manage Level Crossing safety, including compliance inspections, reviewing and approving designs to improve key areas of level crossing safety. Based in Belfast, the role requires delivery of compliance inspections, operational risk assessments, monitoring of operational interfaces and systems developed to manage and reduce level crossing risk across the NI rail network. As Engineering Safety Manager - Rail; your new role will include but not be limited to the following: Act as the principal point of contact on all level crossing related issues including all project technical design queries Review project designs and specifications to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with current standards Develop and implement a strategy to reduce the risk associated with network-level crossings Identify and develop a scope for projects to improve key areas of level crossing safety Report on relevant information relating to all level crossing accidents/incidents. Deliver an effective education programme across NI to drive a campaign of level crossing safety awareness. A full job description can be provided upon request. Essential experience should include the following: Third level qualification HND/HNC in an engineering or agricultural-related discipline A minimum of 3 years' experience in the rail or construction industry A Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH certificate Experience of managing safety through the review, assessment and reporting of existing operational practices against current legislation, industry standards and best practice.
