Overview
Senior Development Chef, Japanese Cuisine Our client, an international food manufacturer, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Development Chef to help grow the brand and develop new products for the market specialising in Japanese cuisine. The role will include working with the company’s chefs across Europe in order to empower a food confident Sales & Marketing team Job description: Develop new dishes and products for the portfolio Coach and upskill research & development chefs, foodservice and sales. Work with marketing to promote new products Support sales to build relationships with large customers, helping to understand menu requirements and introduce new menu proposals. Cooking demonstrations at trade, distributor events Share back market trends, learnings from chef network and other culinary inspiration Inspire other staff across sites with Japanese cuisine and portfolio Requirements: Several years’ experience at Head Chef level in appropriate Japanese restaurants Experience as a development chef or chef consultant in food manufacturing. Experience producing restaurant-standard/scalable recipes, developing and adhering to food processing standards Experience training and developing chefs and developers Good expertise and knowledge of Japanese, Asian and European cuisines – technical and ingredients Up to date knowledge of food trends especially within UK, France & Italy; and within Japanese cuisine in Europe Language: Able to communicate in English, Japanese and French desirable Comfortable working with chefs, stakeholders and International clients. Strong drive for results, with a can-do attitude, and pragmatic solution-oriented mindset The ideal candidate will be a solid all-round professional chef with a proven track record in innovative product development, a thorough knowledge of Japanese cuisine, strong brand awareness and excellent people skills.
