About the role Surrey County Council is undergoing a radical transformation programme across all directorates, led by elected Members. In order to support the transformation and challenges that the council faces, the Leadership Office is looking for a Cabinet Policy Advisor. At its heart, the County Council is a democratically-led organisation. The Leadership Office provides support to the political and corporate leadership of the Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced and political environment. You will work closely with Members of the Cabinet to ensure that their work programmes are effectively managed. This will involve having oversight of national and local policy developments and managing interdependencies in Cabinet portfolios. You will be responsible for ensuring that Cabinet Members are fully briefed; managing a forward plan of activity; preparing high level correspondence; coordinating democratic processes; and working with colleagues across other teams to manage the public affairs programme.
