Overview
About The Role This role is part of the Supplier Relationship Management Team within the Procurement Function, which is responsible for managing supplier performance through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM). The Supplier Relationship Management Team plays this pivotal role across four streams: contract management, performance management, relationship management and sustainable procurement. You’ll lead the delivery of effective contract management at the Society with a particular emphasis on providing such support to large/strategic projects where it is important that the Society receives goods or services in line with previously agreed contractual commitments. You’ll be able to identify commitments and project deliverables referenced in contractual documentation and be able to explain these to stakeholders (both internal and external) as required. You’ll be expected to engage with suppliers on contractual performance and have the ability to lead stakeholders through contract change request processes. As well as providing support on specific projects the role holder will be expected to be a source of expertise to the Supplier Relationship Management Team on the creation and implementation of processes required to drive consistently high standards of contract management within CBS. You’re likely to be consulted at the contract negotiation stage to ensure a process of continuous improvement in such documentation is delivered. You’ll be expected to participate in broader initiatives and projects within the Procurement Function as required and you will also be required to identify, report and mitigate third party risk in line with the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. About You You’ll be a subject matter expert in contract management with a thorough understanding of how the full procurement cycle including supplier management operates. You’ll be able to identify contractual commitments made by suppliers and consider information to assess whether these are being delivered in practice. You will be able to communicate conclusions and recommendations as required to ensure that stakeholders across CBS are aware of whether appropriate value is being delivered against the contract. You will have an understanding of current trends in contract management. You will be able to: lead, motivate and engage cross-functional teams and colleagues; develop effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers; communicate effectively at a senior level with highly developed written, verbal and presentation skills; be able to understand and contribute to standards, policies and strategies relating to supplier relationship management.
