CQR are excited to be working with our client to recruit a positive person to join them as ‘Master Production Scheduler’ at their Barnstaple site in a permanent position. Specialising in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries this is a highly successful and growing organisation. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar Master Production Scheduler role in a high variety, low volume and high complexity manufacturing company; preferably aerospace or electronics. You will need a detailed knowledge of planning, master production scheduling, inventory control, materials planning, capacity planning and be able to lead a team of planners. You will be a positive and enthusiastic person who can think strategically, with an innovative approach to problem solving. This is an exciting time for the business and if you have the skills and experience we are looking for then we would like to hear from you About The Job… This role is a key part of the Supply Chain Management team reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. The key accountabilities of the role are the professional running the site SIOP process to produce accurate headcount, output and financial plans to support the business planning process. Leading the production planning team to manage the creation and execution of viable production plans in support of the SIOP plan. Day to day duties will include: · Integrating the forecast from Sales & Business Development into the demand plan for the business · Balancing the budget, forecast, and orderbook demand to create a supply plan monitoring the factory capacities, inventory & customer requirements. · Producing a master production schedule to control and pace both internal production and the external supply chain ensuring alignment between MPS and sales order/contract requirements · Providing these analyses to the monthly SIOP process. · Running appropriate leading and lagging metrics on demand and supply · Conduct rough cut capacity planning and develop a process of work centre based capacity planning. · Establish appropriate planning parameters for different classes of product to ensure demand, supply and inventory are appropriately managed. · Conduct available to promise analysis and establish scheduled ship dates on all customer orders. · Track production to schedule to ensure meeting committed delivery dates. · Lead efforts to analyse business data to ensure that inputs to the planning process are accurate and reliable · Conduct material availability analysis; Monitor material budget vs actual performance The right person… · Experience as Master Production Scheduler in a high variety/low volume/high complexity manufacturing company (ideally electronics/aerospace) · Experience of leading and mentoring a team of planners and of working in a matrix organisation · Detailed knowledge and understanding of standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) · Experience of manufacturing planning, master production scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, shop floor control, warehousing, transportation, and purchasing business functions · Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field · Previously led the SIOP process for a complex manufacturing business In return we offer… · Excellent salary £38k to £40k per annum · Hours Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 1pm · Benefits include: Free fruit & hot drinks; Contributory pension scheme; Free on-site parking; Life Assurance: Discounted Gym membership; share-save scheme (qualifying period) · It’s an exciting time to join our client’s business; they are investing in their people and facility, they are a customer led business, their technologies support major Aerospace customers and there’s scope of opportunity for the right candidate.
