Overview

Methods Engineer (Quality) Summary: The Methods Engineer (Quality) reports to the Cell Leader and works closely with the Process Quality Engineer within the cell. The role is responsible for key quality requirements on major generator service and manufacturing projects. The support includes ensuring quality records are collected and recorded appropriately per the project Inspection & Test Plan and customer witness points are managed. Essential Responsibilities: Support the creation of document collection sheets to ensure quality requirements are met. Provides technical support in creating and/or modifying process specifications to ensure proper application of repair methods Management and control of technical documents within area of responsibility in accordance with GE procedures. Identify, drive, mentor, and implement projects that improve overall production safety, quality, cycle and cost Conduct operator training on new/updated processes as needed Support root cause investigations and the implementation of CAPA effectiveness. Assist/Guide Quality inspector for engineering repair evaluation Analyze problems, in process inspections, internal corrective actions, as necessary, to improve overall quality systems and scrap control Review/Prepare inspection reports and technical data for customers and ensure reports are uploaded in correct project location etc. Additional Responsibilities Support customer meetings when required Support the PQE with the creation of the EoMR and CofC. Drive Product/Process Qualifications for the Cell/Group by working with RTCoE Work with PQE & CI team to drive sustainable process changes Support RCA's & CAPA plans for external defects To act according to defined Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety instructions, including general and company own rules. To undertake any other duty and responsibility as may be required by the Line Manager Qualifications/Requirements: Engineering Bachelor's Degree in a suitable discipline (Mech, Aero etc.) Inclusive leadership & communication skills Demonstrated ability to self-direct within defined responsibilities Must be a team player willing to sacrifice individual goals when needed Desired Competencies Six Sigma Green Belt Knowledge of generator repairs / manufacture of long-term complex projects Knowledge of Lean and/or alternative continuous improvement methods Experience dealing with customers
