Overview
The Company A fast-paced engineering company The Role Reporting to the ERP Manager. Responsible for purchasing and execution of company processes to ensure that deadlines are met using the ERP system (Infor BaaN 6), measured through weekly KPI reports. Play a key part in maintaining the corporate goal of a minimum On Time Delivery of 90% for all Sales Orders. Work with a qualified supply chain to obtain and negotiate sales agreements and subsequently raise Purchase Orders utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods. Work closely with the ERP Manager, Project Manager and Project Engineer(s) to ensure that material/component supplies are accurate and according to schedule, expediting where necessary. Work closely with the Production Co-Ordinator for raising subcontract purchase orders to ensure the smooth running of production processes in the manufacturing facility. Assist with the development of a qualified supply chain, and the performance management of said supply chain through periodic reviews of the supplier’s quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness. Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff according to the company Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015). On occasions, there would be a requirement for a presence in the workshop to gain product experience and/or assist with inventory management such as participating in stock-taking/cycle counting. Adhere to any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors The Candidate Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organised, professional, and keen negotiator. Experience in a Buyer role. Familiar with engineering drawings and understanding of manufacturing processes. Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015). Knowledge/experience of an ERP System. A collaborative and proactive approach to work and team members. Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, manufacture and customer order fulfillment. Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations. Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
