Buyer / Purchaser (Mechanical) Evesham - easily commutable from Gloucester , Cheltenham , Tewkesbury , Worcester , Redditch , Bromsgrove , Stratford-upon-Avon , Moreton-in-Marsh c.£26,000 - £28,000 Permanent role plus benefits A new role has been created within an exceptionally well-recognised engineering Company supporting a wide array of blue-chip Companies. You will be joining an efficient and supportive team who collectively strive to deliver best value, high quality and optimum delivery performance for goods, services, and production materials required by the Company. In addition, the team constantly research market forces that drive cost and delivery performance for the assigned commodities. The Company are seeking an experienced engineering / manufacturing buyer who has sound working knowledge of purchasing mechanical engineering components/parts and/or engineering raw materials. You should be accomplished in utilising purchasing history/future plan data to justify pricing agreements with suppliers. You should be able to maintain strong working relationships with Suppliers whilst maintaining the Company's purchasing objectives. You will need to have good ERP (or similar system) experience in order to keep all relevant purchasing data updated. The role will involve: Frequent update of the ERP system including supply chain data, purchase orders, agreed pricing structures and supply exception reports. Attend regular production meetings, liaising with the production planner regarding issues that require urgent action. Negotiating pricing, freight terms, payment terms and any other detail related to cost with the assigned supply base. Create longer term forecasts for alternative suppliers and update the Purchasing Director accordingly. Analyse alternative suppliers ability to supply assigned commodities using RFQ response. Investigate quality issues and remedy action with supplier. Liaise with Production Managers to ensure successful (quality , on-time and cost) launch of new products. Determine and execute savings projects to support company purchasing policy. Liaise with Inventory Managers to optimise stock holding levels to support company financial objectives.
