Overview

Senior Support Worker Service/Location: Aspens - Pembury, Kent, TN2 4QU We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join the dynamic team working in our adult day service based in Pembury. We work on both a one to one/two to one and group sessions engaging in a real variety of activities both at the service and in the community. At the service we do art, craft, music, cookery, IT, puzzles, games, horticulture, sports and more. In the community we enjoy scenic walks, bowling, swimming, cycling and outings to name a few. You will need to have a resilient and positive personality as some of the people we support can display challenging behaviours. We are a fun supportive team that work together to give the very best to the people we support. We are looking for a senior support worker who can lead the team in the absence of the manager, act as shift leader, assist timesheets, complete audits, assist personal care, care plans, risk assessments, be a role model for support workers and promote good practice at all times. 40 Hours per week 8:15am - 4:15pm Monday - Friday Senior Support Worker Requirements: Diploma/NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or Diploma/NVQ 2 and ability to work towards level 3 Understanding of Learning Disabilities Experience with challenging behaviours Supervisory/Management experience Competent with basic IT packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) Full driving licence Positive 'can-do' Attitude Friendly, Positive, Resilient, Calm and Helpful Good problem solving skills Good Sense of Humour Team worker Flexible and Trustworthy Patient and Caring Attitude Good at listening About us Aspens has over 100 years of experience in helping children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, those on the autism spectrum, and/or those with complex needs.
