Senior Support Worker Service/Location: Aspens - Pembury, Kent TN2 4QU Are you an experienced support worker looking for the next step in your career? If yes this may be your dream job We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic, reliable and resilient Senior Support Worker who would like to join our growing Aspens family, based at our Residential site in Pembury. Linnets is an eight bedded house supporting individuals with high dependency complex needs all with learning disabilities ranging from moderate to severe. No two days are the same here with this fun, caring and dynamic team Our dedicated team supports service users with activities of daily living such as personal care, preparing meals and keeping the environment safe and homely. We also support with leisure activities such as swimming, horse-riding, shopping, trampolining, day trips, meals out, cinema and holidays amongst other things. We are looking for a senior support worker who can lead the team in the absence of the manager, act as shift leader, assist with rota's and timesheets, complete audits, care plans, risk assessments, be a role model for support workers and promote good practice at all times. We enjoy supporting the service users to live their lives to the full, improving their quality of life while pursuing things that makes them happy and as independent as possible 40 Hours per week with various shifts to include weekends and occasional sleep in shifts. Requirements: Diploma/NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care Available to work shifts including "long days" Understanding of Learning Disabilities Experience with challenging behaviours supervisory/management experience Full driving licence Positive 'can-do' Attitude Friendly, Positive, Resilient, Calm and Helpful Good problem solving skills Good Sense of Humour Team worker Flexible and Trustworthy Patient and Caring Attitude Good at listening About us At Aspens, we have over 100 years of experience in supporting people with learning disabilities and on the autism spectrum as well as children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities or complex needs.
