Housing Support Worker - Permanent - Full Time - £17,500 - Birmingham Your new company We are currently working with a Supported Housing provider who works directly with the Birmingham City Council to rehouse individuals in need of housing support. They aim is to consistently provide and deliver a high standard of housing and to support adults within their shared accommodation. They look to reduce the risk of homelessness through building skills to manage their tenancies. Your new role The nature of the role of a Housing Support Worker is to ensure the clients are safeguarded and have their individual needs identified and met. This is completed by conducting a support place that is led through collaborative consultation. Support provided includes budgeting, guidance to maximising income, debt management, accessing health service, understanding health and safety within your home, independence living skills, access to training, education and employment. What you'll need to succeed To be successful with the role, you will have previous housing support experience where you have supported individuals who have been subject to potential homelessness. You will be able to identify needs of a client on a case by case basis and be able to show evidence of your ability to support them through your prior experience. Due to travelling requirements between head office and Selly Park, a driver will be required for this role. What you'll get in return This is a full time role working for an organisation who have ambitious growth plans in order to keep up with the requirements of local authority. £17,500 is the starting salary for the role with an uplift after a successful 12 month appraisal. Due to the driving requirements, the organisation will also pay you 45 pence to the mile on top of the annual salary.
