Position at a glance: This position is for an analyst who understands the German political environment.The candidate would work closely with the sell side of an investment bank, tracking all major economic indicators of Germany and the European Union. The candidate should have the ability to analyze the effect these indicators would have in the financial markets. Responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to: Tracking all major economic indicators of Germany and the EU region and analyze their possible impact on financial markets. Understanding inter-linkages between the macro indicators internal to the country as well as external. Having a good knowledge of research databases, handle large amounts of data and create charts and tables. Write reports, commentaries and compile news roundups. Create and work on Econometric models. Handle ad hoc research requests as per requirements. Qualifications and Requirements: Business degree, with sound undertanding of the German political and economic environment. Fluent in German as well as in English. Eye for detail and ability to identify and solve issues effectively and on time. High level of independent thinking and approach. Personal Skills: Detail and quality oriented Ability to quickly identify and solve problems, Ability to work under pressure Advanced Excel Preferred knowledge of database tools - Haver, Reuters, Bloomberg and other financial databases, in addition to various central bank and statistical websites, would be a plus.
