Overview

Role: HEAD OF MOTOR REPAIR & ENGINEERING Location: Manchester (with addition travel to London with remote working available) Salary: £90k plus management bonus plus benefits plus extras We are recruiting a Head of Motor Repair & Engineering for a leading insurer based in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for the right person. Overall purpose of the role: To develop and implement the motor Accidental Damage (AD) Claims strategy Drive upper quartile motor AD customer service, indemnity control and operational efficiency The provision of motor repair expertise to all areas of claims To liaise closely with Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Claims Control, providing 'front-line’ motor repair insight to help inform decision making in pricing, underwriting and reserving Managing the motor repairer network and salvage supply chain Procurement of repair management and management of repairer partnerships to deliver cost, quality and customer satisfaction Strategic focus on future of repair industry (consolidation of repairers, technology, parts inflation, ADAS influencers, skill shortages, risk mix, etc) Plan to handle growth Principal Accountabilities: To oversee 75 FTE and manage £3.5 OpEx cost. Fulfil 80,000 motor AD claims per annum with indemnity spend of £250m Deliver agreed Claims income targets, including motor repair fixed cost reconciliation, and salvage returns Deliver agreed Claims savings initiatives Keeping abreast of market changes and regulation, ensuring our client meets expected standards Experience & Skills: Must have extensive knowledge of the motor industry/insurance in vehicle repair Have knowledge of Motor Engineering management An excellent knowledge of Motor Repair Network management An in-depth understanding of the wider motor industry sectors such as the vehicle manufacturer strategies Excellent inter-personal communication and motivational skills The jobholder must have strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to plan, implement and deliver business objectives. Must be able to influence people at all levels and complexity, both internally and externally A good level of change management skills Have extensive customer service knowledge.
