With investment and exciting plans around technology our client a Development Manager to take on line management responsibilities for 9-10 reports within their Scala Development team. They're looking to appeal those who have strong knowledge of modern development methods and processes. The main responsibilities will be around the line management of a high performing development team and their personal development through appraisals, coaching & mentoring. You’d provide supervision and guidance across the team to ensure quality software is delivered whilst managing 3rd party developers either as part of the team or as an outsourced development function. They're moving into an excting phase of development with lot's of greenfield development happenign in 2020 including the adoption of new technologies. The team are already following engineering best practices and clean coding practices such as TDD and continuous delivery. They'd like someone to motivate and facilitate technical problem solving within the team whilst creating a positive working environment. They’re located in Zone 1 and can offer extensive benefits including pension and private healthcare schemes. Requirements - Line Management of software engineering teams 7 in size - Experience in mentoring and leading software Developers - Knowledge of Engineering best practices and methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, CI/CD - Good interpersonal and communication skills Beneficial - Previous experience as a developer - Computer Science or related academics
