Overview
DevOps Engineer High Wycombe 40 - 50k DevOps Engineer wanted for a media and entertainment company - supporting bespoke storage software solutions. Tasks and Responsibilities Maintain, develop and support solution deployment and configuration software Maintain and develop infrastructure Maintain and develop the company’s solution support and deployment infrastructure Support the deployment and operation of bespoke solutions and products Contribute technical solution expertise both internally and externally Provide 3rd level support for deployed solutions and technologies Research, development, testing of new software equipment, procedures and methodologies · Software issue management, ensuring improvements and bug fixes are identified, captured, implemented released and communicated · Packaging, testing and release of software applications and configuration management software Remote assistance with solution deployment Travel Monthly visits to the company’s technical centres in Rotherham and High Wycombe · UK travel: 10% Worldwide travel: 1-2 times per year (conferences such as SC, ISC, NAB, IBC, SambaXP, OpenStack Summit, etc) Software skills: Proficient, with proven real-world production experience, in developing and using software-defined configuration management systems, such as SaltStack (preferred), Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc, is essential. A proven track record managing Linux operating systems and infrastructure. Knowledge of Samba, GPFS/Spectrum Scale and CTDB is desirable. Experience with Elasticsearch, Experience with Docker Software Development skills : Must have experience in software development. Proficiency with Python and Bash is essential. Proficiency in the use of Git for code management, and software project/issue management systems, such as Jira (preferred), Trac, GitHub, etc., is essential.
