Overview

DevOps Engineer / Saltstack Remote working Media and entertainment company supporting some of the industries biggest names in data driven research and development are looking to add onto their DevOps team. Working closely with the product team this position will be integral to the development, maintenance and support of the products and solutions. You will be Maintaining and developing the product infrastructure, ensuring it is up to date, fully documented and configured Maintain and develop the company solution support and deployment infrastructure Support the deployment of solutions and products for clients Technical ownership of specific product components Investigation and tool chain development of new or updated solution components Tasks to Include: Remote assistance for field engineers and support staff carrying out solution deployment, configuration and upgrades Research, development and testing of new equipment, software, procedures and methodologies Identifying software issues, ensuring improvements and bug fixes are identified, captured, implemented, released and communicated Packaging, testing and release of software applications and configuration management software Providing infrastructure support and advice to the Research & Development team Remote assistance with solution deployment You must be able to travel up to a few days a month within the UK Core Competencies: Must have a working knowledge and real world experience of software-defined configuration management systems (SaltStack / Puppet / Chef / Ansible Experience of Linux Knowledge of Samba, GPFS/Spectrum Scale and CTDB is desirable. Experience with Elasticsearch Able to learn other software required in the course of the role, with training on such systems as needed. Software Development skills : Must have experience in development/and or development management. Python / Bash Hardware skills : Experience working with Enterprise hardware preferably in a data centre environment. Including deploying and managing servers, network switches, storage arrays and any other Enterprise infrastructure related hardware.
