Overview
Our client, a leading scientific organisation in Oxford is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join their fast-paced environment. In this role you will be working with an exciting company, who are fully focused on making a difference within the health sector. The Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for resolving all technical issues whilst still maintaining a high standard of customer service. As the Linux Systems Engineer, you need to be comfortable reporting to the Director of IT as well as liasing to non-technical colleagues. As this Linux Systems Engineer is a fast-paced role, it is essential that you have had experience dealing with a large scale of tickets. The Techincal environment for Linux Systems Engineer Experience with different Linux flavours including Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat and CentOS Cloud experience with AWS, Google Cloud or similar Experience or strong knowledge with core networking technologies such as TCIP/IP, LDAP Database experience with Experience configuring, managing and maintaining MySQL / MariaDB Experience with interpreting Active Directory / LDAP systems. Business applications such as Jira and confluence. It would be advantageous (but not essential) for the Linux Systems Engineer to have: Experience working in a mixed technical environment of Windows, Linux and virtual environment. Configuration management tools such as Chef and Puppet. Scripting experience with Chef, Puppet or similar This Linux Systems Engineer role is based in Oxford and is easily commutable from Reading, Swindon, Farringdon, Cheltenham, Witney, Chipping Norton, Bicester, Buckingham, Thame and many other locations in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.
