Overview
Outsource UK are currently seeking a Service Design Lead for a 6 month contract based in Canary Wharf. This is with a prestigious Financial Services company. The position is due to commence immediately, however the client would be happy to wait for the right Candidate. A requirement has been identified for a Service Design Lead to: - Agree, create and deliver Service Design Packages for applications within the IT Technical Upgrade programme - Assess and define the Service Design & Transition deliverables that will be required during the Delivery phase of the Data Centre Migration project. The Service Design Lead will be a key member of each programme team, working closely with other areas of IT and the business as required. Line-management will be into the functional owner, (Principal, Acceptance into Service) and the successful applicant will be expected to represent the interests of the Acceptance into Service function/team within both programmes. The successful candidate will be given a broad remit to deliver and autonomy to shape the role while meeting high-level objectives and managing key stakeholders. Scope of Responsibilities · Categorise the criticality and degree of service impact for in-scope services for each programme and thereby specify the Service Design and Transition deliverables required to ensure that the programmes complete without impact to the business · Working from existing documentation, where it exists, or from discussion with relevant stakeholders, where it does not exist; agree, document and obtain signoff for Service Design artefacts across both programmes · Understand and document the operational processes impacted by the Data Centre Migration. Where these will change after migration to the managed service, ensure that they still meet the requirements of the Bank. · Estimate the amount of work required during the Delivery phase of the Data Centre Migration project to deliver the required Service Design and Transition deliverables. · Hold the Project Manager to account to ensure that the project plans for and carries out activities required to manage the risk to service of migration or upgrade activities · Support the transition of this Scope of Services to a Third Party Provider once appointed. Implementation Arrangements "The Bank shall not seek to exercise any direction, control, or supervision over the Consultant's working methods in the provision of services. Within the scope of services, the Consultant shall complete their work in adherence to relevant Bank policies, process and standards" Expected Skills and Experience Essential · Good working understanding of ITSM processes across the lifecycle as well as change management concepts, project quality and risk management concepts · Experience of implementing or delivering process in an organisation that is undergoing a significant technology or process transformation · Experience of working on large, complex programmes of work · Understanding of project lifecycle and governance and ability to map Service Design & Transition activities and deliverables against it · Attention to detail and able to deliver high quality written and verbal output · Ability to collate and summarise numerous data sources and present it to senior leadership in a way that facilitates decision-making. In particular the ability to assess and articulate risk · Ability to work independently and quickly get to grips with a complex, fast-moving programme. · Operational background with infrastructure and application knowledge; · Proven experience of delivering Service Design Packages across multiple delivery teams and 3rd parties · Experience of working with system integrators and managed services · Pragmatism and problem solving · A team player with a positive and constructive attitude towards work and colleagues Desirable · Experience with managing multiple vendors · ITIL V3 Intermediate qualifications · Experience of working in a banking environment Please visit our website www.outsource-uk.co.uk
